It Takes a Village – Who We Are
We are a set of volunteers who are like-minded. There’s been so many people who have stepped in and offered their time, their money and their belongings to help our homeless.
The only volunteers who are the management team include: Jutskadim (Nickolaus Lewis – Council member), Susan Welsh. Here at The Lummi Stepping Stones, we see the value in everyone. We want to be a catalyst for positive change, and since our beginnings in 2017, we’ve been driven by the same ideas we initially founded our Nonprofit Organization upon: support and empowerment.
The Mission of The Lummi Stepping Stones is to provide Tribal Members/Families a home that is suitable for individuals, families and children that is safe, clean and drug free while they continue their journey of getting back on their feet. The Lummi Stepping Stones is a non-profit group sponsored by The Lhaq’temish Foundation (Previously called LNSO, Lummi Nation Service Organization).
We cannot accomplish the goals and mission of addressing homelessness in the Lummi Community on our own, and realize that to have improved chances for success we must partner with others in the Lummi Community to best serve our people. In doing so management is utilizing both tribal and non-tribal programs to aid in wrap-around case management to triage, assess and stabilize families in need of housing and progress.
